Compensation: $200 – $600 USD / month (Based on experience)

About the Project We are an independent team developing a narrative-driven Sandbox Visual Novel. We utilize a high-fidelity 3D pipeline to create realistic character interactions and cinematic scenes. We are looking for a skilled 3D Animator who understands not just movement, but the textures, lighting, and physics that make a scene feel immersive.

The Role You will work primarily in Blender. Your goal is to take posed characters and bring them to life through seamless animations, realistic physics simulations, and high-quality material setups. You will also help maintain and retarget our growing animation library.

Responsibilities:

Character Animation: Creating naturalistic loops and active animations for narrative sequences.

Physics & Simulation: Managing clothing and soft-body physics (hair, skin, dForce/cloth sims) to ensure movement reacts realistically to gravity and collision.

Materials & Visuals: adjusting skin shaders (subsurface scattering, realistic textures) and material settings to ensure high visual fidelity in the final render.

Scene Lighting: Assisting in lighting setups to match the mood of the narrative events.

Requirements:

Some parts include content for different maturity levels. So candidates must be adults.

Software Proficiency: Deep animation knowledge of Blender. Knowledge of Daz3D is a plus.

Animation Skills: Strong grasp of human anatomy and motion (weight, anticipation, and follow-through).

Technical Know-How: Experience with render engines (Cycles/Eevee), material nodes, and physics settings.
